How We’ll Help

Choose a career with Ben Furney Flour Mills and you’ll be joining a company that is 100% Australian owned and is dedicated to:

Dubbo The City of Smiles

The vibrant regional centre of Dubbo is located in the Macquarie Valley in the west of New South Wales. The region has long been known for its wool and wheat production and has been home to Ben Furney Flour Mills for over a century.

Dubbo is affectionately known as “the city of smiles”. It is friendly and welcoming and may well be the perfect place for the next chapter of your life.

With housing prices in metropolitan areas continuing to rise and thereby becoming out of reach for so many, regional living is ever more appealing. Whether you’re keen for a career change or are seeking a more relaxing lifestyle for your family, places like Dubbo and other parts of the Great Western Plains region are ideal.

From charming country towns to incredible stargazing and the majestic Warrumbungles, the west of our state is a wonder. Spend weekends fishing with the family at Lake Burrendong, take a safari at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, camp out in a national park surrounded by ancient volcanic rock formations or explore Wellington Caves. These are just some of the wonderful offerings in nature that are readily accessible for Dubbo residents.

Culturally, there is also much to do such as visit a lovingly restored historical homestead, see the Old Dubbo Gaol or wander through the beautiful Japanese Gardens. You can also learn more about the incredible work of the Royal Flying Doctors Service or delve deep into all things astronomical at the Dubbo Observatory.

A lifestyle here presents a terrific blend of all things cosmopolitan with the warm hospitality of country living. And with an airport close at hand offering direct flights to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Newcastle, Dubbo really does offer the best of both worlds.
